About Me
A student at the California Institute of Technology
Hi! I'm Troy, an undergraduate student at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), where I am pursuing a computation-heavy variety of the Computation and Neural Systems major alongside a major in Political Science. I am also somewhat active in biochemistry research at Caltech.
The Other Stuff
In addition to the science stuff, I'm also interested in such things as trains (public transportation!), browsing the encyclopedia, and reading short novels. Then, when I have the free time, I also like looking into equestrianism, econometrics, and data science.
The Big Picture
Broadly, I am interested in a very diverse set of things. My overall goal is to both use and expand our knowledge in neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and biochemistry to enact meaningful positive change in the world. Some of the "big picture" things that I'm interested in are:
- High-throughput biochemistry, especially in conjunction with automation and machine learning
- Large and/or mass-scale agentic manufacturing, fabrication, and construction, especially as a method to increase living standards and construct affordable basic infrastructure
- Use of artificial intelligence systems to improve access to high-quality scientific education
- Artificial intelligence as a means to understand complex systems (e.g., in cellular or molecular biology), especially in combating chronic disease and increasing lifespans
- Well-aligned, ethical agentic systems to increase QOL and solve complex problems
- The mechanisms behind cognition and memory
I'm happy to talk about anything, should you be interested in reaching out!
